Medicare Rebates

Irene Pearson is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW), recognised by Medicare to provide counselling services under the Better Access initiative.

If you are experiencing mental health concerns, you may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), which provides Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual counselling sessions per calendar year.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Medicare rebates, you’ll need a Mental Health Treatment Plan, prepared by one of the following health professionals:

• General Practitioner (GP)
• Psychiatrist
• Paediatrician

Your practitioner will assess your mental health and determine whether a treatment plan is appropriate.

Referral Information

To access Medicare rebates for counselling with Irene:

1. Book an appointment with your GP, psychiatrist, or paediatrician.
2. If eligible, ask them to prepare a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a referral letter addressed to: Irene Pearson, Integrative Counselling and Wellbeing, Medicare Provider No. 1605601K
3. Email your plan and referral letter to: integrativecws@gmail.com
4. After your session, submit your Medicare claim via your myGov account, or we can assist you with processing your rebate.

Referrals are typically made for six sessions at a time. If further support is needed, your referring practitioner can review your plan and extend the referral for up to four additional sessions.

NDIS Services and Referrals

We provide specialised counselling and psychosocial support for clients with NDIS plans, including those who are self-managed, plan-managed, or agency-managed.

How to Access Our NDIS Services

• Self-managed clients can contact us directly to arrange sessions and payment.
• Plan-managed clients should inform their plan manager, who will liaise with us regarding funding and invoicing.
• Agency-managed clients can ask their Support Coordinator or Local Area Coordinator (LAC) to include our services in their plan.
