Referral Paths & Funding Options

Medicare Rebates

We are recognised by Medicare to provide counselling services under the Better Access initiative.

If you are experiencing mental health concerns, you may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), which allows access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual counselling sessions per calendar year.

Eligibility

To access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Treatment Plan prepared by an eligible healthcare professional, including:

  • General Practitioner (GP)
  • Psychiatrist
  • Paediatrician

Your healthcare professional will assess your mental health needs and determine whether a Mental Health Treatment Plan is suitable for you.

TAC & WorkSafe

We are registered providers with both the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) and WorkSafe Victoria, enabling eligible clients to access psychological counselling and mental health social work services following a transport or workplace injury.

If your claim has been accepted and counselling has been approved, the cost of your treatment may be funded by TAC or WorkSafe, reducing or eliminating out-of-pocket expenses. We can also provide clinical assessments, progress reports, and recommendations where required to support your ongoing care and recovery.

If you're unsure whether you're eligible for funding, we're happy to discuss your circumstances and guide you through the referral process.

NDIS

We provide therapeutic supports for plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants aged 8 years and over.

If you have NDIS funding (plan-managed or self-managed), simply get in touch to discuss your support needs. If our service is a good fit, we'll guide you through the intake process, prepare a Service Agreement, and arrange your first appointment.

Our services may include:

  • Individual mental health social work and therapeutic counselling
  • Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living supports
  • Trauma-informed and neuro-affirming therapy
  • Emotional regulation and coping skills
  • Building confidence, resilience and independence
  • Support with anxiety, depression and psychosocial disability
  • Support for ADHD and Autism
  • Relationship and interpersonal skill development
  • Functional and psychosocial assessments
  • NDIS progress reports and plan review reports
  • Clinical liaison with support coordinators and other professionals (where appropriate)

DVA

Counselling and mental health support may be available to eligible veterans and their families through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Support can address trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, grief and loss, relationship concerns, and the psychological impact of military service or other life experiences. DVA funding and referral requirements apply, and eligibility can be discussed when making an appointment.

As we are not a crisis counselling service, if you need crisis counselling, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14. If you need immediate help, please call triple zero (000).
